A University of Buffalo, assistant professor of electrical engineering is creating a new type of solar panel. This paint on style does not measure up standard solar panels in terms of energy output; however this unique method shows a promising future for solar. Currently it is less expensive and the surfaces of applications are much greater. While this technology not advanced enough to make a competitive entrance to the market. The idea behind it is revolutionary and could contribute significantly to the future of solar, once the technology is further developed.

Biomass Power

Biomass uses organic material to make electricity, such as dead trees, yard clippings, and wood chips. The biomass that cannot be recycled into paper can be processed and turned into electricity. This would greatly cut down on landfills. For example: California produces 60 million tons of biomass every year. If all 60 million tons was used, there would be enough electricity produced to power over 2 million homes.

Enhanced Geothermal System

Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) is a relatively new technology that does not require natural convective hydrothermal resources. The idea behind EGS is to extract the heat from deep within the earth. The potential is about 10% of the overall U.S. electric capacity that is clean, reliable, and proven.
